Methi Malai Paneer
Methi Malai Paneer is a rich and creamy North Indian curry made with soft paneer cubes cooked in a luscious fenugreek (methi) and cream-based gravy. Mildly spiced and aromatic, this dish is a perfect combination of fresh herbs and creaminess, ideal to enjoy with naan, roti, or steamed rice.
Cooking Method
- Prepare Ingredients: Chop fresh fenugreek (methi) leaves and cube the paneer.
- Sauté Aromatics: Heat oil or ghee in a pan. Add finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Cook Spices: Add turmeric, red chili powder, and garam masala. Stir for 30 seconds to release the aroma.
- Add Fenugreek: Mix in chopped fenugreek leaves and sauté for 2-3 minutes until wilted.
- Prepare Gravy: Add fresh cream or cashew paste along with water or milk. Stir well to create a smooth, creamy sauce.
- Add Paneer: Gently add paneer cubes and simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.
- Garnish & Serve: Garnish with a drizzle of cream and fresh fenugreek leaves. Serve hot with naan, roti, or rice.
