Instant Pot Sweet Potato Halwa
Instant Pot Sweet Potato Halwa is a rich, aromatic Indian dessert made with naturally sweet potatoes, milk, ghee, and fragrant spices. This quick pressure-cooked version delivers a creamy texture and deep flavor with less effort than traditional slow cooking. Perfect for festivals, fasting days, or a warm winter dessert.
Cooking Method
- Wash, peel, and grate the sweet potatoes.
- Turn the Instant Pot to Sauté mode and add ghee.
- Add grated sweet potatoes and sauté for 4–5 minutes until slightly soft and aromatic.
- Pour in milk and mix well.
- Close the lid, set valve to sealing, and cook on Pressure (Manual) mode for 5 minutes.
- Allow natural pressure release for 5 minutes, then release remaining pressure.
- Switch back to Sauté mode, add sugar and cardamom powder.
- Cook while stirring until the mixture thickens and ghee starts separating.
- Add chopped nuts and raisins. Mix well.
- Garnish and serve warm.
