Vegan French Toast (Savory Masala Toast Recipe)
Vegan Savory Masala French Toast is a plant-based twist on the classic French toast, made without eggs or dairy. Infused with turmeric, chili, cumin, and aromatic Indian spices, it’s crispy, flavorful, and packed with protein from chickpea flour or plant-based milk. Cooking Method
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together ½ cup chickpea flour (besan), ½ cup unsweetened plant-based milk, ¼ tsp turmeric, ¼ tsp chili powder, ¼ tsp cumin powder, and salt to taste. Add water as needed to make a smooth batter.
- Dip bread slices into the batter, coating both sides evenly.
- Heat a non-stick pan or skillet over medium heat with 1–2 tsp oil.
- Cook the dipped bread slices for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
