Tandoori Chicken Recipe
Tandoori Chicken is one of the most iconic Indian dishes, loved for its smoky flavor, vibrant color, and juicy texture. Chicken is marinated in yogurt, lemon juice, and a blend of traditional Indian spices before being roasted in a tandoor, oven, or grill. This restaurant-style recipe is perfect for barbecues, family dinners, or festive occasions. Serve it hot with mint chutney, onion rings, and lemon wedges.
Cooking Method
- Wash the chicken pieces and make deep slits to help the marinade penetrate.
- In a large bowl, mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, red chili powder, tandoori masala, and salt until smooth.
- Coat the chicken thoroughly with the marinade, ensuring it gets into the slits.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for maximum flavor.
- Preheat the oven or grill to 220°C (425°F).
- Arrange the chicken on a baking tray or grill rack and cook for 35–40 minutes, turning halfway through and brushing with butter or oil for a smoky finish.
- Grill until the chicken is fully cooked and slightly charred on the edges.
- Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with mint chutney, onion rings, and lemon wedges.
