Authentic Bun Cha Recipe | Traditional Vietnamese Grilled Pork with Noodles
Bun Cha is a famous traditional dish from Vietnam that combines grilled pork, rice noodles, fresh herbs, and a flavorful dipping sauce. This popular Vietnamese meal is especially well known in Hanoi, where it is commonly served for lunch. The dish is loved for its balance of savory, fresh, and slightly tangy flavors.
The main highlight of Bun Cha is the grilled pork, which is usually marinated with garlic, fish sauce, sugar, and spices before being grilled until slightly caramelized and aromatic. The grilled meat is then served with a light dipping sauce made from fish sauce, lime juice, sugar, and chili.
Along with the pork, Bun Cha is served with soft rice noodles called “bun,” fresh vegetables, and herbs such as lettuce, mint, and cilantro. These fresh ingredients add a refreshing taste and texture that balances the rich flavor of the grilled pork.
In Vietnam, Bun Cha is often enjoyed as a casual street food meal. Small restaurants and street vendors prepare the pork over charcoal grills, creating a smoky aroma that attracts people from nearby streets. The dish is usually served with a bowl of dipping sauce where the pork and noodles are dipped before eating.
