Heat oil:

Sauté onion:
Add chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent.
Add garlic:

Add tomatoes:
Add diced tomatoes and cook for 3–4 minutes until slightly softened.
Add beans & spices:
Stir in black beans, cumin powder, salt, and black pepper.
Simmer:
Cook for 10–12 minutes on low heat, allowing flavors to blend.
Adjust seasoning:
Taste and adjust salt or spices if needed.
Serve hot:
Serve as is or with rice, tortillas, or toasted bread.
