Heat a large pan or wok over medium heat and add a small amount of oil.
Add garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant.
Toss in vegetables such as broccoli, bell peppers, and mushrooms; stir-fry for 3–4 minutes.
Add tofu or your preferred protein and cook until lightly golden.
Stir in mala sauce, soy sauce, and a splash of water to coat ingredients evenly.
Cook for another 3–5 minutes, stirring continuously until everything is well combined.
Garnish with sesame seeds and spring onions, then serve hot as is or with steamed rice.
