Peda
Peda is a traditional Indian sweet known for its soft, rich texture and delightful milky flavor. Originating from North India, especially Mathura, Peda is made using khoya (mawa), sugar, and flavored with cardamom. These small, round sweets are often garnished with nuts and are widely offered during festivals, religious occasions, and as prasad.
Cooking Method

- Cook the khoya while stirring continuously until it softens and releases aroma.
- Add sugar and mix well until it melts completely.
- Continue cooking until the mixture thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
- Add cardamom powder and mix thoroughly.
- Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
- Grease your hands and shape small portions into round or flattened pedas.
- Garnish with chopped pistachios or almonds and let them set.
