Cabo Verdean Buzio Stew is a traditional Cape Verdean seafood dish made with tender sea snail (buzio), vegetables, tomatoes, and aromatic herbs simmered in a rich, flavorful broth. Cooking Method


  1.  Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. 
  2.  Sauté the onion and garlic until softened. 
  3.  Add the bell pepper and tomatoes, cooking for 5 minutes. 
  4.  Stir in the tomato paste, paprika, bay leaf, salt, and black pepper. 
  5.  Add the cleaned sea snail and mix well. 
  6.  Pour in the seafood stock and bring to a gentle boil. 
  7.  Reduce the heat and simmer for 45–60 minutes, or until the sea snail is tender. 
  8.  Stir occasionally and add more stock if needed. 
  9.  Remove the bay leaf and adjust seasoning to taste. 
  10.  Garnish with fresh parsley. 
  11.  Serve hot with rice, potatoes, or crusty bread.
