Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking tray with foil. Place a wire rack on top and lightly grease it.
Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels to help them crisp up.
In a large bowl, combine the baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
Toss the wings in the seasoning mixture until evenly coated. Drizzle with olive oil if desired and toss again.
Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack, leaving space between each piece.
Bake for 20 minutes, then flip the wings and bake for another 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown, crispy, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Remove from the oven and let the wings rest for a few minutes before serving. Toss with your favorite sauce or enjoy them as they are.
