Ghanaian Beans Stew, commonly known as Red Red, is a rich and hearty dish made with beans simmered in a flavorful tomato and palm oil sauce. One of the most popular meals in Ghana, Red Red is cherished for its comforting taste, affordability, and nutritional value. The name comes from the reddish color of both the stew and the palm oil used in its preparation.

This traditional dish combines tender black-eyed peas or cowpeas with tomatoes, onions, garlic, ginger, and spices. The result is a thick, savory stew packed with flavor and protein. Red Red is often served with fried ripe plantains, rice, gari (cassava flakes), or boiled yam, making it a satisfying meal enjoyed throughout Ghana.

Nutritious, delicious, and easy to prepare, Ghanaian Beans Stew is a staple of West African cuisine and a favorite among vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.
