Lavash Bread is a soft, thin, and versatile flatbread originating from Armenia, widely enjoyed across the Middle East and Caucasus. Known for its delicate texture and flexible nature, lavash is perfect for wraps, sandwiches, or serving alongside dips, meats, and salads. 

The dough is simple, made from flour, water, yeast, and a pinch of salt. After rolling it out very thinly, it is traditionally baked in a tandoor or oven, producing a soft and slightly chewy bread. Lavash can be enjoyed fresh, toasted, or used to make wraps, making it a staple in many cuisines. 

Lavash Bread is ideal for quick meals, snacks, or as a versatile base for creative dishes. Its soft texture and mild flavor allow it to complement both savory and sweet toppings. Homemade lavash offers a fresh, flavorful, and authentic flatbread experience. 

Cooking Method


  1.  Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water and let sit 5–10 minutes. 
  2.  In a bowl, mix flour and salt. 
  3.  Add yeast mixture and olive oil, knead into a soft dough. 
  4.  Cover and let rise for 1–2 hours. 
  5.  Divide dough into small balls. 
  6.  Roll each ball very thinly into oval or round shapes. 
  7.  Preheat oven to 220°C (430°F). 
  8.  Bake for 4–6 minutes until lightly golden. 
  9.  Cool slightly and serve fresh or use for wraps.
