Fish Singara (Machh Singara)
Fish Singara, also known as Machh Singara, is a unique and flavorful Bangladeshi snack made with crispy pastry filled with spiced fish mixture. Unlike traditional meat samosas, this version uses soft, flaky fish combined with aromatic spices, creating a light yet delicious filling. Step 1: Prepare Dough
- Mix flour with a pinch of salt and a little oil.
- Add water and knead into a smooth dough.
- Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.
Step 2: Prepare Fish Filling
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until soft and golden.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
- Add mashed fish and mix well.
- Add green chilies, garam masala, and salt.
- Cook for 4–5 minutes until mixture is dry and flavorful.
- Let it cool completely.
Step 3: Shape Singara
- Divide dough into small portions and roll into thin circles.
- Cut each into halves.
- Make cone shapes and fill with fish mixture.
- Seal edges using water.
Step 4: Fry Singara
- Heat oil on medium flame.
- Deep fry until crispy and golden brown.
Step 5: Serve
- Serve hot with mint chutney or tomato ketchup.
