Matcha Mochi Waffles

 Matcha Mochi Waffles are a fun fusion dessert combining the chewy texture of mochi with fluffy waffles infused with earthy matcha (green tea) flavor. These waffles are soft, slightly chewy, and naturally sweet, making them perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a unique dessert treat. Topped with syrup, red bean paste, or fresh fruits, Matcha Mochi Waffles offer a Japanese-inspired twist on a classic favorite. 

Cooking Method

 

Prepare the batter – In a bowl, mix 1 cup glutinous rice flour, 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, 2 tbsp matcha powder, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 tsp baking powder, and a pinch of salt.

Add wet ingredients – In another bowl, whisk together 1 cup milk, 1 egg, and 2 tbsp melted butter. Gradually fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture until smooth.

Preheat the waffle iron – Lightly grease with oil or non-stick spray and preheat to medium-high.

Cook the waffles – Pour batter into the waffle iron and cook for 4–6 minutes, or until golden and slightly crispy on the outside.

Cool slightly – Remove waffles and let them cool for a minute before serving.

Add toppings – Top with sweetened condensed milk, syrup, red bean paste, whipped cream, or fresh fruits for extra flavor.

Serve warm – Enjoy the unique chewy-fluffy texture immediately.
