Cooking Method


  1.  Wash the oranges thoroughly. 
  2.  Slice the oranges thinly and remove any seeds. 
  3.  Place the oranges and water in a large pot. 
  4.  Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the peels are tender. 
  5.  Add sugar and stir until completely dissolved. 
  6.  Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the marmalade thickens. 
  7.  Add lemon juice if desired. 
  8.  Test the consistency on a chilled plate. 
  9.  Remove from heat and let cool slightly. 
  10.  Pour into sterilized jars and seal.
