Cooking Method

 

  1. In a bowl, combine chicken pieces with soy sauce and crushed garlic.
  2. Let the chicken marinate for about 20–30 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  4. Add sliced onions and sauté until they become soft and fragrant.
  5. Add the marinated chicken and cook for about 5 minutes.
  6. Pour in the remaining marinade and add vinegar and water.
  7. Add bay leaves and black peppercorns.
  8. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat.
  9. Cover the pan and simmer for about 30 minutes until the chicken becomes tender.
  10. Stir occasionally and allow the sauce to slightly thicken.
  11. Add a small amount of sugar if you want a slightly balanced flavor.
  12. Taste and adjust salt if needed.
  13. Serve hot with steamed rice.
