Date Wontons with Chrysanthemum Tea

 Date Wontons paired with Chrysanthemum Tea create a light and refreshing dessert combination popular in Asian cuisine. The crispy wontons are filled with naturally sweet dates, offering a chewy and caramel-like flavor, while the floral tea balances the sweetness with its soothing and aromatic notes. This pairing is perfect for a healthy, elegant dessert or after-meal treat. 

Cooking Method

 

For Date Wontons: 

  1.  Finely chop or mash the dates into a smooth paste. 
  2.  Place a small amount of date filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. 
  3.  Moisten edges with water and fold into desired shapes (triangle or pouch). 
  4.  Heat oil in a pan and deep fry until golden and crispy. 
  5.  Remove and drain excess oil on paper towels. 


For Chrysanthemum Tea:
 

  1.  Boil water and add dried chrysanthemum flowers. 
  2.  Let it steep for 5–7 minutes. 
  3.  Strain the tea and add honey or sugar if desired. 
  4.  Serve warm or chilled alongside wontons.
