The dough is made using flour, yogurt, yeast, and a touch of oil or butter, which gives naan its soft and tender texture. When cooked, it puffs up slightly and develops a lightly charred surface, adding to its authentic taste. Brushing with butter or garlic enhances its flavor even more. 

Naan Bread can be enjoyed plain or flavored with garlic, herbs, or cheese. It is perfect for scooping up curries or used as a base for wraps and sandwiches.

Cooking Method


  1.  In a bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. 
  2.  Add flour, salt, yogurt, and oil. 
  3.  Mix and knead into a soft dough. 
  4.  Cover and let it rise for 1–2 hours. 
  5.  Divide dough into small balls. 
  6.  Roll each ball into a flat oval shape. 
  7.  Heat a pan or tawa over high heat. 
  8.  Cook naan on one side until bubbles form, then flip. 
  9.  Cook until golden spots appear. 
  10.  Brush with butter and serve warm.
