Aloo Matar Samosas are a classic Indian snack featuring a crispy, golden pastry filled with a spicy mixture of potatoes (aloo) and green peas (matar). Known for their crunchy exterior and flavorful filling, samosas are a favorite street food and festive treat. Served with mint chutney or tamarind sauce, they are a delicious highlight of vegetarian gastronomy. 

Cooking Method

 

  1. Prepare dough by mixing all-purpose flour, salt, and oil; add water and knead into a firm dough. 
  2.  Cover and let the dough rest for 15–20 minutes. 
  3.  For the filling, heat oil and add cumin seeds. 
  4.  Add boiled and mashed potatoes, green peas, and spices; mix well. 
  5.  Cook the filling for a few minutes and let it cool. 
  6.  Divide dough into small balls and roll into oval shapes. 
  7.  Cut each into half, form a cone, and fill with potato mixture. 
  8.  Seal edges with water and shape into samosas. 
  9.  Heat oil in a deep pan and fry on low-medium heat until golden and crispy. 
  10.  Drain and serve hot with chutney.
