Gradually add about ½ cup of maize meal while stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
Cook for 3–5 minutes until a thin porridge forms.
Slowly add the remaining maize meal in batches, stirring constantly.
Continue mixing until the mixture thickens significantly.
Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot.
Cook for 5–10 minutes.
