Puri is a popular deep-fried Indian flatbread known for its golden, crispy texture and puffed appearance. Made from whole wheat flour, puri is often served hot with potato curry, chole, or sweet dishes like halwa. It is a festive favorite and commonly enjoyed during breakfast, special occasions, and religious celebrations across India. 

Cooking Method

In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour and salt. 

 Add a little oil and mix well. 

 Gradually add water and knead into a firm dough. 

 Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes. 

 Divide the dough into small equal balls. 

 Roll each ball into small, thick circles. 

 Heat oil in a deep pan on medium flame. 

 Slide the puri into hot oil and gently press with a spoon to help it puff. 

 Fry until golden brown on both sides. 

 Remove and drain excess oil on paper towels. Serve hot.
