Prepare the mochi – Cut mochi into bite-sized pieces if using blocks, or use pre-made small mochi cakes.
Add cheese – Place a small slice of cheese (mozzarella or processed cheese) on top of each mochi piece.
Grill the mochi – Heat a non-stick pan or grill over medium heat. Grill mochi on both sides until slightly puffed and golden.
Brush with sauce – Lightly brush the grilled mochi with soy sauce while hot for a savory flavor.
Wrap with nori – Wrap each mochi piece with a strip of nori (seaweed). The heat will slightly soften the nori and stick to the mochi.
