Bobotie Recipe | Sweet & Savory South African Baked Minced Meat Dish

Cooking Method


  1.  Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). 
  2.  Heat oil in a pan and sauté onion until soft. 
  3.  Add garlic and cook until fragrant. 
  4.  Add minced meat and cook until browned. 
  5.  Add curry powder, turmeric, salt, and pepper. 
  6.  Mix in raisins, chutney, and soaked bread. 
  7.  Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. 
  8.  Beat eggs with milk and pour over the meat. 
  9.  Bake for 30–35 minutes until the top is set and golden. 
  10.  Let it cool slightly and serve.
