Butter Enriched Dough Recipe | Rich, Buttery Homemade Dough for Soft Breads and Pastries
Butter Enriched Dough is a luxurious yeast-based dough made with generous amounts of butter, creating a soft, tender crumb and rich flavor. Unlike basic bread dough, this enriched dough produces bakery-quality breads with a light, fluffy texture and a beautifully golden crust.
Butter Enriched Dough is incredibly versatile and can be used to make sandwich loaves, dinner rolls, brioche-style buns, cinnamon rolls, braided breads, and other sweet or savory baked treats. Its rich taste and pillowy texture make it an excellent choice for both everyday baking and special occasions.
Cooking Method
- In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it stand for 5–10 minutes until the yeast becomes foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture and eggs to the flour, mixing until a rough dough forms.
- Gradually add the softened butter, kneading until it is fully incorporated.
- Continue kneading for 10–12 minutes until the dough becomes smooth, soft, and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover with a clean towel or plastic wrap.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1½–2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into loaves, rolls, buns, or other desired forms.
- Arrange the shaped dough on a greased baking tray or in baking pans.
- Cover and let it rise again for 45–60 minutes.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg for a glossy finish, if desired.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and fully baked.
- Cool on a wire rack before slicing or serving.
