Mascarpone Cheese is a luxurious, creamy soft cheese originating from Italy. Made primarily from heavy cream, mascarpone is known for its silky texture, mild buttery flavor, and versatility in both sweet and savory dishes. 

This rich cheese is a key ingredient in classic Italian desserts such as Tiramisu and is also used in cheesecakes, frostings, pasta sauces, risottos, and spreads. Unlike many cheeses, mascarpone has a high fat content, giving it an exceptionally smooth and velvety consistency. 

Homemade mascarpone is easy to prepare with just a few ingredients and offers a fresh, creamy flavor that enhances a wide variety of recipes. 

Cooking Method


  1.  Pour the heavy cream into a heatproof saucepan. 
  2.  Heat gently over low heat to 85°C (185°F), stirring occasionally. 
  3.  Add the lemon juice and stir continuously for 2–3 minutes. 
  4.  The cream will begin to thicken slightly. 
  5.  Remove from the heat and allow it to cool for 20 minutes. 
  6.  Line a fine-mesh sieve with several layers of cheesecloth. 
  7.  Pour the mixture into the lined sieve. 
  8.  Place the sieve over a bowl and refrigerate. 
  9.  Allow the mascarpone to drain for 12–24 hours until thick and creamy. 
  10.  Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to use.
