Cooking Method


  1.  Heat oil in a pan and brown the venison pieces on all sides. 
  2.  Remove the meat and set aside. 
  3.  In the same pan, sauté onion and garlic until soft. 
  4.  Add carrots and mushrooms, then cook for a few minutes. 
  5.  Sprinkle flour and stir well to coat the vegetables. 
  6.  Pour in broth gradually while stirring to form a thick gravy. 
  7.  Add thyme, bay leaf, salt, and black pepper. 
  8.  Return the venison to the pan and simmer until tender. 
  9.  Remove from heat and let the filling cool slightly. 
  10.  Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). 
  11.  Place the filling into a pie dish and cover with puff pastry. 
  12.  Brush the top with beaten egg. 
  13.  Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown. 
  14.  Let it cool slightly before serving.
