In a pan, melt 1 tablespoon butter and sauté sliced apples with 1 tablespoon sugar and half the cinnamon until soft and slightly caramelized. Set aside.
In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, remaining sugar, and cinnamon.
Heat the remaining butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
Dip each bread slice into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly.
Place on the pan and cook until golden brown on one side.
Flip and cook the other side until fully cooked.
Serve the French toast topped with warm cinnamon apples.
Optionally drizzle with honey or maple syrup for extra sweetness .
