Indian Chicken Tikka Recipe | Authentic Yogurt-Marinated Grilled Chicken Bites
🇮🇳 Indian Chicken Tikka.PNG610.45 KBChicken tikka is one of India's most popular grilled dishes, featuring tender boneless chicken marinated in creamy yogurt, fresh ginger, garlic, lemon juice, and a fragrant blend of traditional Indian spices. The marinated chicken is then grilled, roasted, or cooked in an air fryer until beautifully charred on the outside while remaining juicy and flavorful on the inside. Every bite delivers smoky, spicy, tangy, and aromatic flavors that make Chicken Tikka a favorite around the world.
Originating from the Indian subcontinent, Chicken Tikka is traditionally cooked in a clay tandoor oven, which gives it its signature smoky flavor. However, this homemade recipe recreates the same delicious taste using a conventional oven, outdoor grill, or air fryer. Thick yogurt tenderizes the chicken while allowing spices like garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, paprika, and Kashmiri chili powder to deeply infuse the meat. Lemon juice adds brightness, and kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves) contributes its unmistakable restaurant-style aroma.
Chicken Tikka is incredibly versatile and can be served as an appetizer with mint chutney and onion salad, stuffed into wraps, added to salads, or transformed into the famous Chicken Tikka Masala. It pairs perfectly with naan, basmati rice, cucumber raita, grilled vegetables, or fresh salad.
Whether you're preparing a weekend barbecue, festive meal, or quick family dinner, this authentic Indian Chicken Tikka recipe delivers restaurant-quality flavor with tender, juicy chicken and irresistible smoky spices.
