Combine all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, yeast, yogurt, and warm water to make a soft dough.
Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Cover and allow the dough to rise for 1–2 hours until doubled in size.
Divide into equal portions and roll each into an oval or teardrop shape.
Cook the naan in a preheated tandoor, cast-iron skillet, or oven until puffed and lightly charred.
Brush both sides generously with melted butter while still hot.
Serve immediately with your favorite Indian curries or grilled dishes.
