Jalebi is a popular Indian sweet made from a fermented flour batter that is shaped into spirals, deep-fried, and soaked in fragrant sugar syrup. It is crispy, juicy, and delicious when served warm.
Cooking Method
Mix all-purpose flour, yogurt, and water to make a smooth, thick batter.
Cover and let the batter ferment for 8–12 hours.
Prepare sugar syrup by boiling sugar and water until slightly sticky, then add cardamom.
Transfer the batter to a piping bag or squeeze bottle.
Pipe spiral shapes into hot oil and fry until crisp and golden.
Immediately soak the jalebis in warm sugar syrup for 30–60 seconds.
