- In a large bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until the yeast becomes foamy.
- Add flour and salt to the mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a long French bread loaf.
- Place the loaf on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover and let it rest for another 30–45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F). Make a few diagonal cuts on top of the loaf.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the bread turns golden brown and develops a crispy crust.
- Let the bread cool slightly before slicing and serving.
