Authentic Egyptian Molokhia Recipe | Traditional Jute Leaf Stew
Egyptian Molokhia is a beloved traditional dish made with finely chopped jute leaves simmered in a flavorful chicken broth and infused with a fragrant garlic and coriander mixture known as ta'leya. Cooking Method
- Bring the chicken broth to a gentle simmer in a large pot.
- Stir in the chopped molokhia and cook over low heat for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Do not let it boil vigorously.
- In a small skillet, melt the butter or ghee over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and cook until lightly golden.
- Stir in the ground coriander and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Immediately pour the garlic-coriander mixture into the molokhia and stir well.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
