Chicken & Shrimp Chow Mein | Classic Chinese-Style Noodle Stir-Fry
Chicken & Shrimp Chow Mein combines tender chicken, juicy shrimp, chewy noodles, and crisp vegetables in a savory Chinese-style stir-fry sauce. Quick to prepare and packed with flavor, it makes an excellent homemade takeout-style lunch or dinner.
Cooking Method
- Cook the chow mein noodles according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a wok over high heat.
- Add the chicken and stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until cooked through.
- Add the shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes, until pink and opaque.
- Remove the chicken and shrimp and set aside.
- Add the remaining oil, garlic, and ginger.
- Add the cabbage, carrot, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes.
- Return the chicken and shrimp to the wok.
- Add the cooked noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and sugar.
- Toss everything together over high heat for 2–3 minutes.
- Add the bean sprouts and green onions.
- Stir-fry for another 1 minute.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot.
