Thailand Khao Pad | Classic Thai Fried Rice with Jasmine Rice
Thai Khao Pad is a flavorful and satisfying fried rice dish made with fragrant jasmine rice, eggs, vegetables, and your choice of chicken, shrimp, pork, or tofu. Seasoned with fish sauce, soy sauce, garlic, and fresh lime, this classic Thai street-food favorite is quick to prepare and packed with savory, aromatic flavor.
The secret to great Khao Pad is using cooked, chilled jasmine rice, which keeps the grains separate and prevents the fried rice from becoming mushy. The ingredients are stir-fried over high heat, allowing the rice to become lightly toasted while absorbing the savory seasoning.
Serve Khao Pad with fresh cucumber slices, lime wedges, cilantro, and Thai chili sauce for a complete and colorful Thai meal. It's perfect for lunch, dinner, or a quick weeknight meal.
