Chicken Shashlik Recipe | Flavorful Chicken Shashlik with Vegetables
Chicken Shashlik is a colorful and flavorful dish made with juicy marinated chicken, crisp bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes cooked in a rich sweet and savory sauce. Popular across South Asian, Chinese-inspired, and Central Asian cuisines, this recipe combines tender chicken cubes with vibrant vegetables and a delicious tomato-based glaze that's perfect for serving over rice, noodles, or with naan and fried rice.
The chicken is first marinated with garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and spices to ensure every bite is tender and packed with flavor. It is then stir-fried or grilled before being tossed with sautéed peppers, onions, and a glossy sauce made from ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar, chili sauce, and a touch of honey or sugar. The result is a beautifully balanced dish that is savory, slightly sweet, mildly tangy, and lightly spicy.
Chicken Shashlik is ideal for weeknight dinners, special occasions, family meals, or entertaining guests. It is quick to prepare and delivers restaurant-style flavor with simple ingredients.
