Cooking Method
- Melt the butter in a large soup pot over medium heat.
- Add the onion and cook until softened, then stir in the garlic for 1 minute.
- Add the ground beef (or beef stew meat) and cook until browned.
- Pour in the beef broth and add the bay leaves, peppercorns, and marjoram.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Add the chopped cabbage, potatoes, and carrots.
- Continue simmering for 30–35 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and the beef is fully cooked.
- Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste.
- Remove the bay leaves before serving.
