In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1–2 hours until doubled in size.
Divide the dough into equal portions and shape each piece into a ball.
Roll each ball into a thin round circle on a lightly floured surface.
Preheat the oven to 240°C (465°F) with a baking tray or stone inside.
Place the pita rounds on the hot tray and bake for 3–5 minutes until they puff up.
Remove from the oven and cover with a clean kitchen towel to keep them soft.
Serve warm with dips, fillings, or your favorite meal.
