Cooking Method
Heat the oil in a large Dutch oven or heavy pot over medium-high heat.
Brown the pork and beef, then remove and set aside.
Add the sliced kielbasa and cook until lightly browned.
Sauté the onion and garlic until softened.
Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.
Add the sauerkraut, fresh cabbage, soaked mushrooms, beef, pork, bay leaves, paprika, black pepper, and caraway seeds.
Pour in the beef broth and stir well.
Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low.
Cover and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the meat is tender and the flavors have blended.
Remove the bay leaves, garnish with parsley, and serve hot with rye bread or boiled potatoes.
