Curly Fries Recipe |Crispy Homemade Spiral French Fries

Curly Fries are fun, crispy spiral-shaped potatoes seasoned with a flavorful blend of paprika, garlic, onion, and herbs. Their distinctive twisted shape creates plenty of crunchy edges while keeping the centers fluffy and tender. This homemade version is easy to prepare with a spiralizer and can be baked until golden or fried for an extra-crispy finish. Perfect for burgers, sandwiches, grilled chicken, parties, game nights, or casual snacking, Curly Fries are a delicious homemade alternative to ordinary French fries.

Cooking Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly. Peel them if preferred.
  3. Using a spiralizer fitted with a medium or large blade, cut each potato into long curly spirals.
  4. Place the potato spirals in cold water and soak for 20–30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  5. Drain the potatoes and pat them completely dry with clean kitchen towels or paper towels.
  6. In a large bowl, combine the oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
  7. Add the potato spirals and toss gently until evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
  8. Spread the curly fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
  9. Bake for 25–30 minutes, turning gently halfway through cooking.
  10. Increase the oven temperature to 450°F (230°C) and bake for another 5–8 minutes, until golden and crisp.
  11. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, parsley, or cayenne pepper if desired.
  12. Serve immediately with ketchup, ranch, spicy mayonnaise, or garlic aioli.
