Korean Gochujang Chicken Recipe | Spicy & Sticky Korean Chicken
Korean Gochujang Chicken is a flavorful dish featuring tender chicken coated in a rich, spicy-sweet sauce made with gochujang, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. The Korean chili paste gives the chicken its signature deep red color and bold combination of heat, sweetness, and umami. Pan-seared until beautifully caramelized, this easy chicken recipe makes a delicious lunch or dinner served with steamed rice, kimchi, and fresh vegetables.
Cooking Method
- In a bowl, mix the gochujang, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, water, and black pepper.
- Add the chicken and toss until evenly coated. Let it marinate for 20 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken and cook for 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and fully cooked.
- Pour the remaining sauce into the skillet and simmer for 3–5 minutes, stirring until thick and glossy.
- Turn the chicken pieces occasionally so they become evenly coated with the sauce.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve hot with steamed rice, kimchi, and cucumber.
