Filled Donuts with Pastry Cream are soft, fluffy homemade donuts filled with smooth, rich vanilla pastry cream and finished with a light coating of powdered sugar. The yeast-raised dough becomes beautifully golden and tender when fried, creating a delicate exterior with a soft, airy center that is perfect for a generous creamy filling. The silky pastry cream adds a rich vanilla flavor that pairs wonderfully with the buttery donut dough.
These homemade filled donuts are perfect for breakfast, brunch, afternoon tea, dessert, parties, and special celebrations. They are especially delicious when served fresh while the pastry cream is cool and creamy inside the warm, fluffy donut. With their bakery-style appearance and comforting flavor, these donuts make a wonderful homemade treat for family and guests.
Cooking Method
- Combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar in a large bowl. Let stand for 5–10 minutes.

- Cover and let the donuts rise for another 20–30 minutes.
- Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).

- Make a small hole in the side of each donut and pipe in the pastry cream.
