A rich, sweet, and savory sauce made with slowly caramelized onions. It has a smooth, slightly tangy flavor and pairs perfectly with burgers, sandwiches, steaks, grilled chicken, fries, and roasted vegetables.
Cooking Method
Thinly slice the onions.
Heat butter and oil in a pan over medium-low heat.
Add onions and cook slowly for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until deep golden brown.
Add brown sugar and cook for 1–2 minutes.
Add cream, mustard, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Blend until smooth if you prefer a creamy sauce. Allow to cool before serving or storing.
