Biscotti are traditional Italian twice-baked biscuits originating from the Tuscany region of Italy. Known for their crunchy texture, golden-brown color, and delicious flavor, these classic treats are commonly made with flour, sugar, eggs, and almonds. The double-baking process gives Biscotti their signature crispness and makes them ideal for dipping into coffee, tea, or cappuccino. They can also be customized with chocolate chips, pistachios, dried fruits, or citrus zest. Perfect for breakfast, afternoon snacks, or dessert, homemade Biscotti bring an authentic Italian bakery experience to your kitchen.

Cooking Method

Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients: Combine flour, sugar, and baking powder in a large bowl.

Add Wet Ingredients: Beat the eggs and mix them into the dry ingredients until a firm dough forms.

Add Flavorings: Fold in whole almonds or your preferred additions, such as chocolate chips or pistachios.

Shape the Dough: Divide the dough into two portions and shape each into a long, flat log on the prepared tray.

First Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes until the logs are lightly golden and firm. Remove them from the oven and cool for 10–15 minutes.

Slice the Logs: Using a serrated knife, cut the logs diagonally into slices approximately 1–2 cm thick.

Second Bake: Arrange the slices flat on the tray and bake for another 10–15 minutes, turning halfway through, until crisp and dry.

Cool and Serve: Allow the Biscotti to cool completely before serving with coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.
