Sulaimani Chai is a refreshing traditional black tea popular in Kerala and other parts of South India. Unlike creamy milk tea, this aromatic beverage is prepared without milk and is known for its light body, warm spices, and bright citrus flavor. Made with black tea, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, and a splash of lemon, Sulaimani Chai offers a delicate balance of sweetness, spice, and tanginess.
The tea is gently brewed with warming spices to create a fragrant infusion before being sweetened and finished with fresh lemon juice. Some variations also include mint leaves or a small amount of saffron for extra aroma. Its clean, refreshing taste makes it a pleasant drink after meals or during a relaxing afternoon break.
Easy to prepare with simple ingredients, Sulaimani Chai is a wonderful alternative to traditional milk-based chai. Serve it hot with dates, biscuits, or light snacks for an authentic South Indian tea-time experience.
