Peanut Sauce (Senegalese Maafe Style) is a rich and flavourful West African sauce inspired by traditional Senegalese maafe, also known as groundnut stew. Made with creamy peanut butter, tomatoes, onions, garlic, and warm spices, this sauce delivers a delicious combination of nutty richness, gentle sweetness, and savoury depth. Its smooth, thick consistency makes it a versatile addition to many meals.
This homemade peanut sauce is easy to prepare and can be served with grilled chicken, roasted vegetables, rice, or steamed sweet potatoes. Adjust the chilli and liquid quantities to create your preferred flavour and consistency. Whether used as a dipping sauce or a meal accompaniment, it brings a distinctive West African-inspired taste to your table.
