Butter Naan is a soft, fluffy Indian flatbread generously brushed with melted butter for a rich, delicious flavor. Traditionally cooked in a hot tandoor, it features a lightly crisp exterior and a tender interior. Butter Naan is a classic accompaniment to curries, paneer dishes, dals, and grilled meats.
Combine all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, yeast, yogurt, and warm water to make a soft dough.
Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Cover and allow the dough to rise for 1–2 hours until doubled in size.
Divide into equal portions and roll each into an oval or teardrop shape.
Cook the naan in a preheated tandoor, cast-iron skillet, or oven until puffed and lightly charred.
Brush both sides generously with melted butter while still hot.
